“He Will Establish You Forever” (I Chronicles 28:6-9)

May the grace and love of God be upon you who is listening to God’s voice today in this worship.

Massive protest against regime in Iran is spreading nationwide. And bloody suppression is on their people by Islam extremist regime. Long term economic sanction and war on Israel led them poor and isolated. Extreme rule of Islam made their people block outside of world.

Reza Pahlavi, the last man of Pahlavi family of Iran said that recently Iran could become as South Korea, but they became as North Korea due to religious isolationism.  When certain religion take over regime, the nation might be broken. Religious isolation tightens up their lives and thoughts.

All religion must do by voluntary dedication not forceful tool.

One year ago, South Korea could be a chance of similar situation with today Iran. Unification Church and Shinchunji, which are heretic church and some of extreme Christians infected martial law happen.

Pursuit of power of church will break health society with extremist rule of religion. Church’s pursuit must be delivering gospel of Jesus Christ and love of God not secular power. That is not for God and for human. Gospel can be delivered by passion not by force.

Only church can scold against regimes once they do unjustly on people depending on characteristics of God, which is justice and love.

But this purpose even is subjected to recovering right and peaceful society not to have power.

Today Bible let us know how we can inherit to our children and what we must inherit for their blessing.

Let us read together I Chronicles 28:7-8

“I will establish his kingdom forever if he is unswerving in carrying out my commands and laws, as is being done at this time.’ So now I charge you in the sight of all Israel and of the assembly of the Lord, and in the hearing of our God; Be careful to follow all the commands of the Lord your God, that you may possess this good land and pass it on as an inheritance to your descendants forever.”

When David was old, he made the decision to inherit his faith in his son Solomon. He asked the son to build temple of God and to lead people with faith to God in his last word of life.

He asked him to rely only God not any other things as power or number or resource. Only one who can protect and bless is God only.

He must obey law and rule from God to keep his nation and people from all kinds of risks.

Secular kings generally inherited land expanding or power expanding. But David wanted to inherit spiritual treasures from God. All blessings come from God.

Verse 9 say,

“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge all God of your father, and serve him with while hearted devotion “and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.”

David said to son, seek God and He will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

Humans can make blessings. Only God makes it. Once God want to give us it, we can receive it as well. So, the way to get it is to follow the will of God.

What are characteristics of God? What He pleases? Love and just! That has belonged to God. Hate and threat is not in God.
God reign us by forgiveness and grace not by fear and doubt. Because God created all of us and He wants really us to live peaceful and comfortable in hard world.

God is gracious and loving. When we match Him, we can be blessed by God.

When Moses of Exodus inherited faith to Joshua of the Promised Land.

Joshua 1:8 say,

“Do not let this book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

The way of prosperous and successful comes from obeying God.

When there is not fear to God, unjust and unrighteousness come.

David was king but he enjoyed praising God rather than ruling nation. He made songs to praise God and to teach people praising to God. In his live praising God was important than others.

He was steadfast before God even in individual, or head of family, or head of nation.

Psalm 34:1-2 say,

“I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. My soul will boas in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.”

Brothers and sisters in the Lord!

Let us keep our faith steadfastly to God in any circumstance for God is faithful.  Korean historically considered righteousness rather than others. They did not like unjust things. They have been against unjust power from inside or outside. When they encountered just and loving God. They became blessed.

What is just? This is the mind of ashamed of unjust and unfair. And this is the mind for other than me. They considered pains of others.

They listened seriously word of truth and life of God, so that they got blessing from God. We confess that God is our source of all blessing.

Apostle Paul and Peter all led many souls to God who is love and justice.

Let us taste him with our heart and mind first and share it with others next. Because he is blessing for our life.

One scholar from old religion of Korea one day has read Bible and confessed this book is truth, he said, “because there is not any editing on it for covering humans’ weaknesses as the religion that I belonged to, did. So, I believe it with my heart.”

John’s Gospel 1:3 say,

Through him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.”

God be with all of you, Amen.
